《FREE TO PLAY》是一部纪录长片。影片跟随三位不同国家的职业电竞选手，讲述他们在首届Dota 2国际邀请赛中为一百万美元的奖金奋力拼搏的故事。近几年来，电子竞技开始大幅流行，已经跻身于当今人口基数众多的竞技运动行列中。百万奖金的赛事改变了整个电竞圈的格局，而对于正值巅峰时期的顶尖选手来说，这样的机会也是千载难逢。经过Valve的精心打造，影片完整地记录了选手们在顶尖对决的过程中遇到的挑战和做出的牺牲。

Dendi生于乌克兰的利沃夫市，小时候他奶奶买了一台电脑给他哥哥，他就是从那时起开始玩游戏。他在生活中对音乐和舞蹈都非常有兴趣，这也让他在游戏中得心应手，远远超过了同龄人的水平。当时他在学习钢琴时的刻苦训练让他很快就在线下赛事中以超凡的手速使众人惊艳，他也获得了“钢琴手”的美名。尽管他在其他游戏中也获得了成功，但是他明白，当他踌躇在Dota之路时他才发现了自己真正的归属。

如果关注新加坡Dota圈的发展，那么对HyHy（林汉勇）这个名字肯定不陌生。HyHy出生于1990年的新加坡，他是在2007年亚洲电竞大赛上作为战队一员代表新加坡参赛时开始崭露头角。次年又夺得电子竞技世界杯（ESWC）的桂冠。从此他就成了Dota 2社区的标志性人物，从不回避外界对他的争议。HyHy从不掩饰自己的想法，这也给他带来了“发奋图强”和“打法多变”的名声。

Fear（克林顿·鲁米斯）可以说是西半球水平最高的选手之一，不过他的成长并非一马平川。他在纯粹的技术和来之不易的经验之间找到了平衡点，这帮助他克服了美国选手在达到最高水平后容易产生的孤独感。作为1988年出生的80后，他的职业素养和比赛的热情带他走出了俄勒冈州梅德福市，来到了欧洲，来到了中国，最终来到了Dota 2国际邀请赛，在整个电竞历史上奖金居于榜首的赛事。

    2. Valve grants you a license to the Movie and Marketing Materials anywhere in the world, but you must comply with applicable law in any jurisdiction where you exercise the license rights, including marketing, content labeling, or other laws that may apply.
    3. You will promote and present the Movie and Marketing Materials in a manner that makes clear Valve is the owner and the source of the Movie, the Marketing Materials, and Dota 2. Where appropriate, you will display the following credit: “© Valve Corporation 2014. All Rights Reserved. Valve, the Valve logo, Dota and the Dota logo are trademarks and/or registered trademarks of Valve.”
    4. You shall comply with reasonable requests that Valve may issue, from time to time, to cooperate in the marketing and promotion of the Movie.
    5. Valve may update the Movie or Marketing Materials from time to time. Upon Valve’s public notice of an update, you will promptly download the updated file from this web site, and cease reproduction, distribution and display of any prior version.
  4. Indemnity. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold Valve harmless from all liabilities, claims and expenses, including attorneys’ fees, that arise from or in connection with breach of this license or use of the Movie or Marketing Materials. Valve reserves the right, at its own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification.
